What gets me about AI voice and face clones is how fast the burden shifts onto the person being copied. Suddenly you’re expected to prove a fake clip isn’t you before your boss, your clients, your family group chat decide otherwise. That’s not some abstract “future of media” problem. It’s a labor problem and a power problem. If your name and likeness help you get work, then unauthorized clones can wreck your income overnight while the platform shrugs and says moderation is hard. I don’t think consent should be optional here. If a company can profit from your identity, you should have to opt in, get paid, and be able to pull it back.
