Honestly I think people overlearn little media rules and then act like they're magic. The "truth sandwich" can help, sure, especially when some senator goes on TV and says immigrants are causing every problem in the country. But if you repeat the lie in a punchy way, a lot of people will only remember the punchy part. That's not a theory, that's how half our politics works now. I think the better habit is to lead with the actual stake: who gets hurt, who benefits, what policy is being smuggled in. Then if you have to mention the false claim, make it smaller than the correction and less catchy. You can't fact-check your way out of a propaganda machine if you keep borrowing its framing.
