What worries me most about an Iran war isn't just missiles or oil spikes, it's the quiet squeeze on Central Asia. Everyone suddenly talks about the region like it's a clean backup route between China and Europe, as if rail lines and ports exist in a vacuum. They don't. If Iran gets dragged into a bigger fight, insurers panic, sanctions get wider, border checks tighten, and every government from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan gets pushed to pick sides while pretending not to. That's bad for trade and bad for their own stability. The West should stop treating Central Asia as a map shortcut and start acting like these are states with their own balancing acts, domestic pressures, and very limited room for error.
