The Grammarly case is the kind of thing people shrug at until they realize how much of their life runs through these little browser helpers. If a writing app is grabbing more than it needs, that’s not a harmless growth hack, that’s surveillance with nice branding. I’m so tired of tech companies acting like consent means burying one vague sentence in settings nobody reads. Sue them, audit them, make them explain exactly what they collect and why. If your product needs sneaky data practices, maybe your product just isn’t that good.
