Honestly, the "ground beef" discourse is funny because half the stuff people buy now feels engineered to survive shipping, not to taste good. Same with produce. Tomatoes look perfect and taste like damp paper. I’m not anti-farm science or whatever, but we’ve optimized food for shelf life and yield so hard that basic texture and flavor got treated like optional features. Feels like a small but obvious quality-of-life loss everyone just accepted.
