Hot take: Europe should stop treating wind and solar stats like they end the argument. Good, build them, use them, fine. But a grid has to work on the coldest windless week in January, not just on a sunny chart for annual generation. Germany spent a fortune chasing green targets and still leans on imports, gas backup, and higher prices than a lot of people can stomach. If you want to end dependence on Russian fuel and Middle East shocks, great, same here. Then stop kneecapping nuclear and pretending batteries are ready to cover whole countries for days. Cheap, stable, domestic power beats slogans. Build renewables, keep gas for backup, and get serious about nuclear.
