Meeting your heroes in your 40s seems like a coin flip. Either it reminds you why you cared in the first place, or it exposes how fake so much of modern "art talk" has gotten. Tweedy's one of the few guys from that era who still comes off like he means it, not like he's building a wellness brand with guitars. That's probably why Wilco aged better than half the indie canon. The songs were human-sized. Not made for algorithms, not made for grad seminar approval. Just craft, nerve, melody, done.
