One thing I think liberals still underrate: ridicule works. Not as a substitute for organizing, elections, courts, all that, but as a way to puncture the fake aura these guys depend on. Authoritarian politics runs on stagecraft. The strongman image, the endless "look how powerful I am" nonsense, the demand that everyone act intimidated. Once people start laughing at it, some of that spell breaks. You could see it with Trump's weird AI pope stuff and the nonstop macho posting. Half the power is just getting people to pretend it's normal. Mockery says no, this is embarrassing. Doesn't solve everything, but fear hates being laughed at.
