Funny how every online fight now gets dressed up as "discourse" like slapping theory labels on a food fight makes it noble. Habermas had this idea that public debate works when people are trying to persuade instead of perform for their side. Look around for five minutes and it's the opposite. Politicians farm clips, journalists bait rage, half of social media is people auditioning for applause from strangers. I lean right, but this hits everybody. If your argument only works when the other guy gets banned, you don't believe in debate, you believe in referees.
