Kind of wild to watch Republicans try to pin every price swing on whoever’s in office, then act like presidents personally set gas prices with a dial. If gas drops, they take a victory lap. If it spikes because OPEC cuts output or a refinery goes offline, suddenly it’s still the president’s fault. Trump got lucky with timing more than genius policy, and Biden got nailed by a global inflation mess after covid. Voters care about prices, sure, but pretending one guy in Washington controls the pump is campaign junk food. Easy line, not much truth in it.
