What gets me about stories like Butkevych's isn't just the cruelty of the captivity. It's that Russia keeps swallowing people who spent their lives arguing for basic human dignity, then expects the world to shrug and move on. I don't buy the "fatigue" excuse anymore. If you care about rights in any consistent way, Ukraine still has to matter.
