Calling every policy fight a "war" gets old, but sending JD Vance out to sell Medicaid cuts and SNAP shrinkage in a state like Minnesota isn't some harmless messaging tour either. If your plan is to chip away at health care and food aid while calling it efficiency, people are allowed to call it what it feels like: an attack. Maybe not war, fine. But not normal budget trimming either.
