Funny watching people act like the president has zero connection to gas prices right up until prices drop, then suddenly it's a genius White House strategy. Of course one person doesn't control the whole global oil market. But policy matters. Leasing, pipelines, refinery rules, signaling to producers, sanctions, all of that changes supply and expectations. Under Trump, the U.S. acted like producing energy was a strength. Under Biden, the posture was apology first, then panic when voters saw $4 and $5 signs. That's why Vance's point lands. Pretending energy prices are just weather with a logo on top is nonsense.
