What gets me is how policy keeps pretending all "farmers" have the same interests. They don't. The big agribusiness players can soak up subsidies, buy more land, and keep pushing fertilizer-heavy, water-hungry systems, then small and mid-size farmers get blamed when soils fail and harvests get weird. If the EU is serious about climate, stop paying by acreage and start paying for resilience: healthier soils, less chemical dependence, hedgerows, water retention. Otherwise we're funding collapse.
