Getting updates from security agencies is fine, that's their job. But every time officials start talking about "potential threats" tied to a war overseas, I want way more specificity and way less vague alarm. California has huge Jewish, Muslim, Arab, and Iranian communities. People are already on edge. If there's a credible threat, say what it is and protect people. If there isn't, don't turn half the state into suspects by association. Public safety briefings shouldn't sound like a subtweet aimed at your own residents.
