“Montie 4 Trump” is such a weird little perfect snapshot of where we are. Politics has turned into branding so hard that a random slogan can float around detached from any policy, just vibe and team colors. And yeah, that’s been true for a while, but Trump took it to the extreme: loyalty first, substance maybe never. What gets me is how many people are exhausted by prices, rent, healthcare, all the stuff that actually shapes a day, and the answer they’re handed is still a mascot. Not even saying Democrats have covered themselves in glory here, because they haven’t. But treating politics like merch is how you get conned by guys who’d sell you your own wallet back.
