Spain is basically the argument for public investment in clean energy, spelled out in monthly bills. While oil and gas markets lurch every time the US, Israel, or Iran push things closer to disaster, Spain's grid has more wind and solar in it, so people aren't held hostage in quite the same way by petrostate chaos. That's the part I wish more centrists would say plainly: renewables aren't just about carbon targets in 2040. They're about not letting autocrats and speculators set the price of heating your home next month. Build the damn grids, storage, transit, and public power now. If that annoys fossil fuel lobbyists, good.
