What sticks with me about Ukraine right now isn't one headline, it's the grind. Towns getting hit, power infrastructure patched, then hit again, kids doing school around sirens, and somehow people still acting like this is a frozen conflict or background noise. Russia is still trying to win by exhausting everyone else first: Ukrainians, European governments, US voters, the news cycle. That's the strategy. So when aid gets treated like some annoying budget line instead of the difference between air defense working or not, it makes me nuts. You don't have to romanticize war to say the obvious thing: if a country is being invaded, helping it defend itself is the bare minimum. "Negotiations" sounds nice until you ask what map those talks are supposed to start from.
